About Amy

Amy Fothergill lives in Half Moon Bay, Calfornia with her husband, son, daughter and dog. She began making hand stamped cards in 1995 with friends from Boston. After taking classes, studying other artists, spending a lot of time in card and paper stores, she considered doing this not just as a hobby.

When her friend Christine asked Amy to design and make her wedding invitations, she knew there was potential. Amy went on to create her own wedding invitation, baby announcements for her son and daughter and countless other projects. When she received a large amount of compliments and positive feedback, Amy decided to venture out on her own. She has created many unique designs for brides, babies and businesses.

When asked where she gets her ideas. Amy says "I usually start with an idea of the color or theme (birthday, thank you, etc). I might look at paper or a stamp and just..see it. I sometimes equate myself with Edward Scissorhands in that I will just begin cutting paper, taping and arranging until I stop and say 'There. This is it!'. "

In 2004, Amy participated in the Pescadero Arts and Fun Festival and was a featured artist at the Enso Holiday Artisans event. She sells her cards and showcases invitations and stationery at the Farmer's Market at Cetrella in Half Moon Bay.
